Emotional eating can be detrimental to weight loss. Learning to identify the situations and emotions that trigger overeating can help to break the habit and prevent future instances of compulsive eating. The Time to Change programme will help you to understand your eating behaviour in relation to your emotions.
This 6 week programme meets each week for a 90 minute session. The group approach has proven beneficial as it promotes motivation and support knowing you are not alone and change is possible. This provides a safe environment for you to explore and come to a greater understanding of the reasons behind your behaviours. With this new awareness you can change and identify some of the barriers that prevent change. |
You will discover:
- your emotional triggers and gain an understanding as to why and how food has become your way of dealing with unwanted feelings. - new ways to manage your unwanted feelings and identify how to resolve the source of the issue. - ways to increase your self esteem and see yourself in a new light. You will learn to gain control of you emotions and as a result will begin to nourish and nurture your mind and body. You will create the support and motivation you need to continue with change. Your life will become healthier, happier and fulfilled. I offer continuing support after the Time to Change programme or if you are aware you have deeper psychological issues I offer one to one or group therapy counselling. |
