Healthy Eating Questions

Q: Why is this programme different?

A: It offers a group approach that works on lifestyle changes from the inside out. The group approach provides support and motivation as you make the simple comfortable changes necessary to reach your objectives.

Q: I have tried all sorts of diets before, why should this be any different?
A: This is not a diet. As you gain control of your eating habits it frees you from the dieting trap, so you can feel better about yourself which is the success to long term results enabling you to enjoy a healthier, happier life.

Q: Why do so many people succeed in losing weight only to put it back on again weeks later?
A: Because they go on a diet rather than employing a long term slimming strategy. Diets involve deprivation and are inherently repetitive. You end up using the diet as a way of being in control and ultimately it is not possible to maintain such discipline in the longer term.

Q: When I go on a diet why do I get motivated at the beginning and then fall by the wayside?
A: Because you are motivated and enthusiastic by the diet/slimming club, and not motivated to change for you. Motivation has to be about changing behaviour, feeling good about yourself, eating healthy food and taking more exercise. Therefore it’s a convenient substitute for action, so if the diet or slimming club don’t work it's not your fault.

Q: How does this approach help me find self-control?
A: By implanting the core belief within yourself that to stay the way you are is no longer an option. The step-by-step techniques you learn to help support this new attitude, strengthen your belief that you are capable of achieving what you want.

Q: How does this self-awareness help me to lose weight?
A: Through the honesty of your own self-awareness, together with the knowledge you are gaining, you realise you have choices available to do things differently. This gives many opportunities to change your old ways for new.
